Queensland Government Procurement division
Content is being reviewed to align with the Queensland Procurement Policy 2026.
The Queensland Government Procurement Division serves as the whole-of-government, centralised procurement function for Queensland.
The division currently sits as a business unit within the Department of Housing and Public Works and serves an enabling function to support Queensland Government:
- departments
- statutory bodies
- budget sector agencies
- special purpose vehicles delivering on the Queensland Government’s procurement approach.
Procurement provides expert advisory, enabling and support services to agencies, suppliers and the community to achieve procurement outcomes.
We are responsible for:
- managing the Queensland Government’s procurement policy and related frameworks
- leading and manging critical supply arrangements under the General Goods and Services category
- fleet management and provide advisory services.

Policy ownership and governance
- Stewardship of Queensland’s procurement policy framework comprised of the
- Social procurement guidance and advice
Strategic leadership and coordination
- Providing expert procurement policy advice and strategic direction to all government agencies
- Consulting with, and coordinating between, all responsible government agencies on procurement-related policies
- Secretariat for the Queensland Government Procurement Committee, Procurement Ministerial Advisory Council and Heads of Procurement Network Delivering whole-of-government procurement data, as well as analytics and strategic insights to support best-in-class procurement outcomes through data-led decision-making
We enable all Queensland Government agencies to achieve best value-for-money outcomes in their procurement activities by:
- sharing procurement information, best practice and innovation success stories across the Queensland public sector
- developing whole-of-government frameworks in areas including capability, accreditation and performance
- working with agencies to reduce the cost of doing business with the Queensland Government.
Key business areas
Whole-of-government procurement policy and advisory services
The policy team provides expert procurement policy advice and support to all Queensland Government entities.
It also develops and maintains the policy framework that governs how over $26 billion in annual Queensland Government procurement is conducted.
Key services include:
- procurement capability, training and professional development initiatives for the entire public sector
- growing Queensland Business roadshows, events, awards, supplier recognition initiatives and case studies
- comprehensive procurement advisory services to all government entities
- providing systems support for QTenders and the Queensland Government Arrangements Directory.
General Goods and Services
The General Goods and Services area provides category management and a lifecycle approach to establishing and managing common use supply arrangements.
The team delivers real value for Queensland by focusing on economic, ethical, social and environmental priorities while leveraging the collective purchasing power of all government entities to benefit Queenslanders.
QFleet
QFleet is a commercialised business unit and is responsible for whole-of-government fleet management and advisory services.
Services include:
- vehicle procurement and contract management
- fleet advisory services to public sector departments and government-funded organisations
- statewide in-service maintenance and accident management
- end-of-life repairs and vehicle re-marketing.
Queensland Government Procurement Assurance Branch
The Queensland Government Procurement Assurance Branch ensures a level playing field where government suppliers and agencies meet their commitments under the QPP.
This includes the approach to assurance of ethical supply.
