For over 160 years, Public Works has been delivering and maintaining critical infrastructure across Queensland. As the Queensland Government’s lead infrastructure delivery agency, it shapes the built environment of cities and regions to improve Queenslanders’ lives.

Major Projects Delivery, a business area in Public Works, plans and delivers significant and complex infrastructure projects and programs on behalf of government departments and agencies. These projects deliver fit-for-purpose facilities that support critical services and jobs, while providing Queenslanders with better, safer and more sustainable places to live, learn and work.

Major Projects Delivery provides professional services across the project lifecycle, including business case development, procurement, design and delivery. We follow a rigorous risk-based methodology and governance structure. This ensures that appropriate risk management and mitigation strategies are implemented to preserve cost, scope and outcomes.

Major Projects Delivery is co-located with the Contract Services and Strategy teams within Public Works. This strengthens the services Major Projects Delivery provides through specialist advice on contractual matters relating to the procurement and delivery of projects, as well as strategic advice and guidance on the end-to-end lifecycle management of infrastructure projects and programs.
