For suppliers

The Queensland Procurement Policy 2026 (QPP 2026) commences on 1 January 2026.

Built on 5 strategic pillars that guide all procurement activities across government, the refreshed policy represents a comprehensive approach to government procurement that delivers maximum value for taxpayers while creating opportunities for Queensland businesses.

The QPP 2026 makes it easier for suppliers to do business with the Queensland Government by:

  • streamlining processes through smaller tenders and simplified, plain language documentation that reduces red tape
  • introducing dedicated small business and social procurement advisors to make it easier than ever for diverse businesses to engage with Queensland Government Procurement
  • enhancing supplier capability, supporting ethical standards and strengthening the government’s supply chain through the new Procurement Assurance Model
  • increasing transparency with improved quality and timeliness of information posted on the Queensland Government Forward Procurement Pipeline
  • producing an action plan for making it easier to tender for government work through collaboration between key government and industry stakeholder groups
  • supporting continuous improvement by requiring buyers to offer debriefs to all suppliers who have submitted tenders, helping suppliers to strengthen future proposals
  • fostering innovation through flexible procurement approaches that welcome new ideas and market driven solutions that maintain fair competition and equitable processes.
