Energy upgrades in community housing provider-owned properties
The Queensland Community Housing Energy Upgrades (QCHEU) program opened on 2 February 2026 and will close on 30 October 2026.
The QCHEU program will help provide energy efficiency upgrades to community housing properties across Queensland.
Rebates of up to $4,500 (excluding GST) per dwelling are available for eligible community housing providers which own and manage their dwellings to undertake energy efficiency upgrades.
The QCHEU rebate aims to:
- reduce electricity bills for community housing tenants
- improve energy efficiency in community housing
- help homes stay cooler in summer and warmer in winter for community housing tenants.
The QCHEU program is being delivered in partnership with the Australian Government as part of the broader $116 million Queensland Social Housing Energy Performance Initiative (SHEPI).
