Cairns Youth Foyer
The Queensland Government is building a youth foyer in Manoora, Cairns.
The Cairns Youth Foyer will provide accommodation for young people aged 16 to 25 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. These young tenants will be supported to gain essential, practical life skills to help them transition to independent living.
Young people must be committed to engaging in education, training or employment to be eligible to live at the Cairns Youth Foyer. They will also pay 25% of their income in rent.
Experienced youth support staff will provide 24/7 onsite assistance for the tenants and ensure support is available when needed.
Consultation with the community has occurred and stakeholders have contributed to the design of the foyer.
Hutchinson Builders has been appointed to build the Cairns Youth Foyer, with construction due to be completed in early 2027.
