Accounting software for trust accounts

Under the Building Industry Fairness (Security of Payment) Act 2017, trustees must keep certain trust records. If a trustee uses a computerised system for keeping records, the trustee must ensure those records comply with the legislative requirements.

There are many software solutions available to the building and construction industry to help manage project, contract and payment workflows and financial and business accounting. Some of these solutions may also be capable of keeping trust records.

Trust account software solutions that are available in the market are listed on the department's website.

Note: it is not a requirement for a trustee to use one of the listed available software solutions.
