Information for digital software providers

Software solutions are critical for supporting trustees in Queensland’s building industry to keep the required records while managing their trust accounts.

The department is supporting a voluntary self-assessment process for software providers that are offering (or are intending to offer) trust accounting solutions. The Software Self-assessment Framework (SAF) supports providers with information about the core functional requirements and tools to help providers self-assess their product’s capability to support trustee compliance with the trust record keeping requirements.

The department will also publish a list of available software solutions to help building contractors find a software solution that best fits their operational needs.

Participating in the self-assessment process is voluntary. However, only those providers who have participated in this process can request publication on the department's website.

Self-assessment process and documentation

Software providers are able to access the self-assessment documents and complete the self-assessment process as outlined below:

Stage 1 – Self-assessment

Complete the self-assessment Checklist to confirm you have met minimum requirements to support trustee compliance with the trust record keeping requirements.

Keep a copy of the completed checklist to provide to the department when you request publication.
