Schoolies Hub

If you're looking for the best place to celebrate Schoolies, head to the Schoolies Hub in Surfers Paradise.

The Schoolies Hub will be open every night from 22–28 November 2025. The Safer Schoolies Hub is a fenced, alcohol- and drug-free entertainment precinct.

The best part is that it’s 100% free to attend; all you need to do is register for your official Safer Schoolies wristband to gain entry.

During Schoolies, you may have heard of other festivals or events that you can purchase tickets to attend – these paid events are run by private operators and are not in any way linked with the Safer Schoolies Gold Coast Response or the Schoolies Hub in Surfers Paradise.

You don't need to purchase anything to access to the Schoolies Hub or to get a wristband.

If you're planning to come to Surfers Paradise outside of the peak Queensland Schoolies period (22–28 November 2025), be aware the Schoolies Hub is not operational during Week 2.

Remember: The Schoolies Hub is only for genuine Year 12 school leavers – no toolies, droolies or randos allowed.

*No bags allowed means no handbags, bum bags, fanny packs, shoulder bags etc. Clear plastic pouches will be available at the Wristband Centre – grab one when you get your official Safer Schoolies wristband. These can be worn in the Safer Schoolies Hub.

You may also carry a small medical bag for items such as:

  • EpiPens

This will be searched when you enter the Schoolies hub.

There aren't any cloak room facilities provided by SSI, so we strongly suggest you leave bags and valuables at your accommodation or at home.

Accessibility and the Safer Schoolies Hub

All graduating Year 12 students are free to celebrate the end of their schooling in a safe and happy environment and we welcome school leavers requiring different accessibility needs to the Schoolies Hub.

The Schoolies Hub is an inclusive area that recognises the diverse needs of young people and caters for those who are mobility impaired, have other disabilities, or have non-visible disabilities.

We have  allocated areas for viewing, disabled toilet facilities, and other support mechanisms in place to make the Schoolies Hub an inclusive environment for everyone to enjoy.

Hidden Disabilities Sunflower

In 2024 we proudly announced our partnership with the Hidden Disability Sunflower Program.

This means many of our staff and volunteers have now been trained to support people with hidden disabilities at the Safer Schoolies Gold Coast Response.

For accessible parking, toilets, beach access and other facilities in Surfers Paradise, see the below resources:

Parking options are available close to the Schoolies Hub entry for eligible patrons.

If you have any other questions about accessibility or to make accessibility arrangements, email Safer Schoolies HQ at SaferSchoolies@housing.qld.gov.au and we'll be in contact to discuss your needs directly.
